Performers needed for carol festival

The Rotary Club of Estevan continues to seek performers for its annual Christmas carol festival.

The event will be happening on Sunday, December 16 at St. Paul's United Church in Estevan. An instrumental prelude of Christmas music will start at 6:45 p.m. The program begins at 7 p.m.

Event spokesperson Karen Melle said that the carol festival is a strong tradition for Rotary and the community. They have received some registrations for performers, but more are still needed.

People of all ages are welcome to play, Melle said. They'll accept soloists, duets and small groups, community choirs, school groups and others. It doesn't have to be a vocal performance, either, as instrumentalists are encouraged to perform.

The public is invited to turn out and listen to the music as well, Melle said. They'll get to sing carols partway through the program.

Admission is by donation. Proceeds from the carol festival will be directed to local band programs.
