Midget AA Bruins beat Weyburn

The Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins ended a three-game losing streak in league play by defeating the Weyburn Wings 4-3 at Spectra Place on November 25.

Tanner Jeannot opened the scoring, but Weyburn tied the game a few minutes later, and then early in the second, took a 2-1 lead. A goal by Dylan Lay tied the game, but Weyburn scored before the end of the second to re-establish their one-goal advantage.

Jolan Lingelbach scored a power play goal early in the third to tie the game, and Kale Little notched the game-winner with eight minutes left in the third.

Levi Eiteneier was the winning goalie.

Three nights earlier, Estevan had a 3-0 lead in the first period against the Notre Dame Bantam Hounds, and a 5-4 lead after two periods, but lost 7-5. Lay, Preston Hutt and Marc Shaw scored for Estevan in the first period; Mason Benning had both Bruin goals in the second.

Lay also had three assists.

Tanner Tytlandsvik was in goal.

Estevan's record in league play is 5-5-4. They'll host the Prairie Storm on December 1 at 8 p.m. and the Moose Jaw Warriors on December 2 at 6 p.m. Both games will be at Spectra Place.

Kyle Sargent and Joshua Skjonsby each scored twice as the Estevan TS&M Bantam AA Bruins routed the Melville Millionaires 6-1 on November 24.

Skjonsby scored the only goal in the first period to give Estevan a 1-0 lead. Sargent scored twice and Mitchell Morrison also scored to give Estevan a 4-0 lead in the second period. After Melville scored its lone goal of the game, Skjonsby scored again for a 5-1 Bruin lead.

Erik McKersie scored the only goal of the third.
Carter Phair was in goal for the victory.

Their record is 4-8. They'll host the Regina Monarchs on December 1 at 5:15 p.m. at Spectra Place.

The Estevan Sherritt Coal Peewee AA Bruins dropped a pair of games in Moose Jaw against the Warriors, losing 5-2 on November 24 and 4-3 on November 25.

Moose Jaw led 4-0 after the first two periods in the game on November 24. Power play goals by Terran Holzer and Cole Fonstad less than a minute apart in the third cut the deficit in half, but Moose Jaw secured a three-goal advantage again with a goal 68 seconds after Fonstad scored.

Fonstad opened the scoring on November 25 with the only goal of the first period. Moose Jaw scored twice in the second, but Fonstad scored again to tie the game.

The Warriors added two more to lead 4-2. Hayden Cutler rounded out the scoring with a short-handed goal late in the third.

Morgan Wanner was in goal for the first game. Cody Levesque started in the second game.

The peewee Bruins' record is 3-4. They'll host Swift Current on December 1 at 2:45 p.m. and December 2 at 11:30 a.m.
