Bruins make several moves

The CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins have acquired 1993-born defenceman Leighton McLachlan from the Drumheller Dragons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

McLachlan played against Yorkton, and he is expected to bring depth and grit to the Bruins' defence.

He was held pointless in 19 games with Drumheller and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons this year.

The club has also traded forward Roger Tagoona to the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for future considerations. Tagoona was acquired in a four-player deal from the Battlefords North Stars earlier this season, and managed a goal and an assist in nine games. He also had 34 penalty minutes.

The Bruins have also released rookie forward Brandon Halbgewachs. He had a goal and an assist in 11 games this season.

Finally, forward Austin Daae has been called up by the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders. Daae had five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 21 games with the Bruins this season. He has played parts of the two previous seasons in the WHL.
