The Estevan Midget A Female Baxter Cougars opened their season with a 7-6 win over the Regina Avalanche.
Hailey Dukart led the offence with two goals and an assist. The other goal scorers were Brooklyn Dukart, Paige Collopy, Mackenzie Ronyk, Cassidy Siebert and Allison Mack.
Brianna Cote and Ve Poirier shared the goaltending duties.
The Cougars next two games are at home at the Civic Auditorium. They'll host the Regina Flames at 5:15 p.m. on October 27, and the Regina Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on October 28.

The Estevan Power Dodge Bantam A Chargers opened their season with a pair of lopsided wins: 9-1 over the Swift Current Colts on October 20 and 13-2 over the Springside Lions October 21.
Mariah McKersie had a hat trick, Kailey McLellan had two goals and an assist and Megan LeBlanc also scored twice for Estevan against Swift Current. Michaella Matthies and Rachel Mack had Estevan's other goals.
Saige Monteyne was the winning goalie.
McLellan (three goals and two assists) and McKersie (two goals and three assists) each had five points for Estevan against Springside. Taylor Currie and Ashton Magotaux also had two-goal games.
LeBlanc, Mack, Matthies and Allie Butler had Estevan's other goals.
Monteyne and Tamara Irwin shared the goaltending duties.

The Estevan Dayman Trucking Bulldogs defeated the Regina Capitals 3-1 on October 21. Sabrina Spearing and Litesha Spittal scored four-and-a-half minutes apart in the third period to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Bulldogs to victory. Jenna Grube also scored
Mercedes Singleton was in goal for the victory.
Estevan's next game is October 28 at the Civic Auditorium against Weyburn. Game time is at 6 p.m.
