The Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins extended their unbeaten streak to five games by defeating the Notre Dame Hounds 5-2 on October 20 and the Regina Capitals 8-1 on October 21. Both games were at Spectra Place.
Dylan Lay scored twice against Notre Dame. Marc Shaw, Steven Henderson and Tanner Jeannot had the other Estevan goals.
Shaw and Jolan Lingelbach each scored twice against the Capitals, while Kaelan Holt had a goal and two assists. Kyle Salaway, Blaine Herzberg and Tyson Price had the other goals in the rout. Jason Hengen contributed four assists.
Tanner Tytlandsvik started in goal against Notre Dame, while Levi Eiteneier was in net against the Capitals.
The Midget AA Bruins’ next two games will be on the road. They’ll visit Swift Current on October 26 and Moose Jaw on October 27.
The Estevan TS&M Bantam AA Bruins dropped all three of their games that they played from October 19 to 21: 8-0 against the Melville Millionaires on October 19, 3-2 against the Yorkton Terriers on the 20th and 5-3 against the undefeated West Central Wheat Kings on the 21st.
Colton Winton and Kolten Ganson had the goals for Estevan against Yorkton.
Ganson and Kyle Sargent scored in the first period to give Estevan a 2-0 lead against West Central, but the Wheat Kings rattled off five unanswered goals to have a 5-2 lead by the midway point in the third period. JJ Holma scored late in the third for Estevan to round out the scoring.
Cameron Lavoie was in goal for all three games.
The Bantam AA Bruins’ next game is October 27 at home against the Battlefords Barons.
The Sherritt Coal Peewee AA Bruins split a double-header in Swift Current against the Broncos, losing 4-3 on October 20 and winning 5-3 on the 21st.
Reegan Robinson, Colton Schell and Carson Benning had the goals for Estevan in the first game against Swift Current.
Cole Fonstad had two goals and an assist in the second game versus Swift Current. Hayden Cutler, Dylan Hall and Ryder Pierson also scored for Estevan, who led 5-0 after two periods.
Morgan Wanner was in goal for the first game, and Cody Levesque played in the second.
Estevan also defeated the Weyburn Youngfellows 5-3 on October 17 in Weyburn. Fonstad had a hat trick and an assist, including the game-winning goal with 68 seconds to play in the third period. Jake Palmer and Hayden Cutler also scored.
Levesque was the winning goalie.
The Estevan Gem Well Atom AA Bruins opened the regular season with a 7-2 loss to the Yorkton Terriers on October 20. Parker Bell and Josh Romanyk had the goals for Estevan.
Layne Gilroy was in goal.
The Atom AA Bruins will have their home opener October 27 at 2:30 p.m. against the Moosomin Ice Badgers at Spectra Place.
