Riders fall to Eskimos

The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost to the Edmonton Eskimos 37-20 in a one-sided game. The Riders didn’t play well. Riders’ quarterback Darian Durant went 17 of 27 for 204 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Riders’ record is 8-7 and their next game is against the Montreal Alouettes.

Other scores from Week 16 were: the B.C Lions beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 31-17, the Calgary Stampeders beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 32-21 and the Montreal Alouettes beat the Toronto Argonauts 24-12.

In the NFL, the New England Patriots were upset by the Seattle Seahawks 24-23 in a close game. The first meeting between these two teams was in 1989 when Seattle won 24-3.  Seattle has a record of 5-2 against the Pats. The Patriots record is 3-3 and their next game is against the 3-3 New York Jets.

Other scores from Week 6 were:  the Atlanta Falcons got past the Oakland Raiders 23-20, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hammered the Kansas City Chiefs 38-10 and the Detroit Lions beat the Philadelphia Eagles 26-23 in over-time.

In the United Football League, the Las Vegas Locomotives continued to roll as they beat the Sacramento Mountain Lions 20-9 in a one-sided game.

The other score from week 3 was the Omaha Nighthawks beat the Virginia Destroyers 38-10.

In NCAA Football, the No. 3 Florida Gators beat the Vanderbilt Commodores 31-17. The Gators’ record is 6-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play, and their next game is against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Other scores from week 7 were:  the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide hammered the Missouri Tigers 42-10, the No. 18 Texas Tech Red Raiders beat the No. 17 West Virginia Mountaineers 49-14 and the No. 12 Florida State Seminoles took out the Boston College Eagles 51-7.

In NCAA Division 1AA Football, the North Dakota State Bison lost 17-14 to Indiana State in a close game. The Bison’s record is 5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
