Local author Marie Donais Calder has been busy promoting “The Other Side of Devotion,” the most recent book in her Other Side series.
Donais Calder was at the Estevan Showcase Business Expo from September 28 to 30. She participated in an author reading on October 10 at the Estevan Public Library. And she has made a number of other appearances at events.
Devotion is the ninth book in the series, and it examines the strength of the bond between Donais Calder's father, Edmond Donais, and the German family that Edmond Donais befriended while Edmond was stationed in Germany after the Second World War.
It also shares the deepening bond between him and the other Canadian soldiers who were in Germany. The longer the soldiers were away from their families in Canada, the more they started to rely on each other, Donais Calder said.
The 10th book in the series, “The Other Side of Starvation,” should be released before Christmas, Donais Calder said.
