Riders get past Stampeders

The Saskatchewan Roughriders got past the Calgary Stameders 30-25 in a close game. The Riders defence held Calgary‘s running back John Cornish to 67 yards in the game, after Riders head coach Cory Chamblin said Cornish would not rush for 100 yards. Darian Durant started the game and went 22 of 35 for 264 yards passing and two touchdowns before giving way to Drew Willy, who closed out the game in the dying minutes. The Riders' record is 6-6 and their next game is against the B.C. Lions.

Other scores from Week 13 were: the Montreal Alouettes beat the Toronto Argonauts 31-10, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Hamilton Tiger-cats 34-12 and the B.C. Lions got past the Edmonton Eskimos 19-18.

In the NFL, the New England Patriots lost to the Baltimore Ravens 31-30 in a nail biter of a game. The Pats lost on a last second field goal and their record falls to 1-2. Their next game is against the Buffalo Bills.

Other scores from Week 3 were: the Buffalo Bills beat the Cleveland Browns 24-14, the Dallas Cowboys got past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16-10, the Minnesota Vikings beat the San Francisco 49ers 24-13, and the Arizona Cardinals hammered the Philadelphia Eagles 27-6.

In NCAA football, the No. 11 Florida Gators hammered the Kentucky Wildcats 38-0 in a one-sided game. The Gators record is 4-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Their next game is against the Louisiana State University Tigers.

Other scores from week 4 were: the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide hammered the Florida Atlantic Owls 40-7, the No. 2 Oregon Ducks pasted the Arizona Wildcats 49-0 and the No. 4 Florida State Seminoles beat the No.17 Clemson Tigers 49-37.

In NCAA Division 1AA Football, the North Dakota State Bison beat Prairie View A&M 66-7 in a one sided game. The Bison’s record is 3-0 and their next game is against Northern Iowa.
