Copeland resigns from Twins

Tom Copeland has resigned as the head coach of the Southeast Legacy Midget AAA Twins baseball team.

Copeland has been the head coach of the Twins since the team joined the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League in 2011. Prior to that, he spent two years as the coach of Estevan's midget AAA baseball program.

The Twins boast players from Estevan, Weyburn and other southeast communities. Copeland has been a steadfast proponent of continuing to field a team of southeast players, rather than having separate teams from Estevan and Weyburn.

In his letter of resignation, Copeland said he is stepping aside so he can focus on his current business interests.

He promised to support the new head coach in all ways possible, including gaining entry to tournaments and passing along all of his contact information.

A new coach for the Twins has yet to be named.
