New residential development launched

A sod-turning ceremony was held September 14 for the latest phase of the Dominion Heights residential subdivision.

The newest phase of the Dominion Heights residential subdivision in northwest Estevan was celebrated with a sod-turning and a launch on September 14.

Representatives from Trimount Developments – the company that is tackling the project – were in attendance. Also on hand were delegates from the City of Estevan, the Estevan Chamber of Commerce, project lender Boardwalk Real Estate Investment Trust, and three contractors – Glen Peterson Construction, Turnbull's Excavating and Souris Valley Paving.

Lynn Chipley from Century 21 Border Real Estate Service in Estevan said that Trimount has made it clear that they're here for the long-term, and that they want to make this latest phase of Dominion Heights a nice subdivision, with pathways and other amenities.

The first portion of this phase will feature 35 single-family residential lots. Chipley said they already have nine holds for lots. Duplexes, townhouses and condominiums will be added at a later date.

Earthworks and other underground services are currently underway. If the weather holds, the work should be done in early December, but if not, it won't be completed until the spring. Roads will also be paved in the spring.
