Estevan Police Service members have had to respond to several calls in the last couple days, resulting in several charges.
Police received a complaint of a break-and-enter at a residence on Tuesday. It appears that two people entered a house, looking for a person who allegedly owes money. Some threats were made and the individuals left the house without locating the person who owed money. Two males were arrested. One was charged with breaking-and-entering, uttering threats and breaching his conditions.
Police were also called to investigate a hit-and-run accident. It appears a vehicle rolled back at a red light and damaged the front license plate holder of the victim vehicle. The offending motorist was apparently scared to stop, as the driver of the victim vehicle followed, making gestures to pull over. Police arrived and assessed the situation, and advised the parties to visit SGI and report the incident. No further action was taken.
A 50-year-old male attended the front desk of the police station on Monday to turn himself in on a number of outstanding warrants. It was noted he had been drinking, and was intoxicated at the time. He was taken into custody and lodged in cells until sober. He was released before a justice of the peace on a number of conditions. A new court date has been set for September 24.
Police responded to a call from the liquor board store September 17. It appears that two people entered the store and left with a bottle of alcohol without paying. The matter is under investigation.
