Riders stun Blue Bombers

The Saskatchewan Roughriders got past the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 25-24 in the Banjo Bowl. The game came down to the last play of the game, after the Winnipeg Blue Bombers punted from the Rider’s 43-yard line for a single point. The Riders would then move the ball, in three plays, into field goal range. Sandro Deagelis connected on a game-winning 40 yard field goal. The Riders record is 5-5 and their next game is against Montreal Alouettes.

Other scores from Week 11 were: the B.C. Lions beat the Montreal Alouettes 43-10, the Calgary Stampeders got past the Edmonton Eskimos 20-18 and the Toronto Argonauts beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 45-31.

In the NFL, the New England Patriots beat the Tennessee Titans 34-13 in a one-sided game. The Pats record is 1-0 and their next game is against the Arizona Cardinals.

Other scores from Week 1 were: the Dallas Cowboys got past the New York Giants 24-17, the Washington Redskins beat the New Orleans Saints 40-32, and the San Francisco 49ers upset the Green Bay Packers 30-22.

In NCAA football, the No.18 Florida Gators beat the Texas A&M Aggies 20-17 in a close game. The Gators record is 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Florida’s next game is against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Other Scores from Week 2 were: the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide hammered the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 35-0, the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs beat the Missouri Tigers 41-20, the No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners beat the Florida A&M Rattlers 69-13, and the No. 6 Florida State Seminoles blasted Savannah State 55-0 in a shortened game due to weather.

In NCAA Division 1AA Football, the North Dakota State Bison beat the Colorado State Rams 22-7 in a one-sided game. The Bison record is 2-0 and their next game is against Prairie View A&M.
