Jason Fleury and Mike Reinheller from Trimount Developments offered an update on a couple of housing developments in the city during the Estevan Chamber of Commerce's monthly meeting on September 12.
Reinheller updated the Petterson Point condominium project that is nearing completion in the Trojan subdivision. The first two 39-unit buildings are already finished and fully occupied; the third building is about 70 per cent sold out. It should be ready for occupancy in mid-October.
Petterson Point is home to residents of all demographics, Reinheller said, ranging from first-time homeowners to senior citizens.
Landscaping at Petterson Point is nearing completion.
Fleury discussed Trimount's work in the Dominion Heights subdivision in northwest Estevan. Trimount purchased the right to develop Dominion's Phase 3 earlier this year. Earthworks are already underway in the first half of Phase 3, or Phase 3A.
Phase 3A will feature 37 single-family residential lots. About a third of the lots have already been sold. Phase 3B will offer duplexes, townhouses and condominiums. Construction on Phase 3B will likely begin in the spring, Fleury said.
Trimount also has the option to purchase Phase 4 of Dominion Heights from the City of Estevan.
Fleury is pleased to see that Estevan is growing, and he believes the community can eventually reach a population of 20,000 people.
