The Estevan Arts Council will be offering courses for artists of all ages this fall.
Cheryl Andrist will be instructing classes on rosemaling on two Saturdays in October, the 13th and the 20th. Rosemaling is a Scandinavian art technique of carved or painted decorations, consisting of floral motifs that are painted or carved onto furniture, dinnerware or walls.
Doris Sheldon, a local wood carver, will be presenting classes for beginners and intermediates on November 17 and 18. Carving techniques will transform the face of a male into a Wood Spirit using cottonwood bark.
Darlene Martin will present her pottery classes for children, teens and adults on three Saturdays: November 10 and 24, and December 8. Participants can explore decorative techniques that include impressing, sprig molding, carving into clay and glazing.
The sessions for children will start at 10:30 a.m. each of the three days, while the classes for teens and adults will begin at 1 p.m. each day.
