The Saskatchewan Roughriders blasted the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 52-0 in the Labour Day Classic. This is the largest margin of victory in the history of the game, and it was the first time that Winnipeg has been shutout in 43 years. Saskatchewan played very well in all phases of the game. Running back Corey Sheets had his first 100-yard game. The Riders record is 4-5 and their next game is against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Banjo Bowl.
Another score from week 10 was the Toronto Argonauts got past the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-30 in the battle of Ontario.
In NCAA Football, the No. 23 Florida Gators beat the Bowling Green State Falcons 27-14. The Gators were down 7-0 after the first quarter and then they scored 27 unanswered points. The Gators record is 1-0 and their next game is against the Texas A&M Aggies.
Other scores from Week 1 were: the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide beat the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines 41-14, the No. 1 Southern California Trojans hammered the Hawaii Warriors 49-10, the No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners took out the University of Texas El Paso Miners 24-7, the No. 7 Florida State Seminoles blasted the Murray State Racers 69-3 and No. 19 Oklahoma State Cowboys took Savannah State to the wood chipper 84-0.
In NCAA Division 1 AA Football, the No.1 North Dakota State Bison hammered the Robert Morris Colonials 52-0 in a one-sided game. North Dakota State previously beat Robert Morris in the 2010 FCS playoffs. The Bison's record is 1-0 and their next game is against the Colorado State Rams.
Congratulations goes out to the team of Ken McDonald, Red McDonald, Kyle Kapiczowski and Bill Kapiczowski who won the 23rd Border Classic at the Gateway Cities Golf Club with a score that was 13-under-par.
In NASCAR, Denny Hamlin won the AvoCare 500, finishing ahead of Jeff Gordon. Bobby Labonte started in 25th and finished the race in 19th. The next race is the Federated Auto Parts 400.
