The three teams in Penta Completions Estevan Minor Football were in Regina for games during the Labour Day long weekend.
The Estevan Lions Club Bantam Steelers dropped a 30-0 decision to the Regina Renegades on September 1. The Renegades had leads of 7-0 after the first quarter and 14-0 at half-time. Coach Phil Zajac said the Renegades' last touchdown came with about a minute to play in the game.
Zajac said the Steelers marched the ball well in the second half. One of their drives was stopped on the Renegades' one-yard line. And the Steelers couldn't convert other opportunities when they were in Renegade territory.
The special teams played well, Zajac said, and limited the Renegades' return yards. The defence also played well, but the Renegades were able to muster some big plays offensively.
