Ludwig files nomination papers for mayor

Roy Ludwig has filed his nomination papers for Estevan's mayor race in the upcoming civic election.

Ludwig announced earlier this year that he would be running for mayor, after serving as a city councillor for the previous 18 years. Infrastructure, health care, beautification and recreation are among the key issues that he believes are facing Estevan during the next four years.

"I think the important thing, now that we're in the growth mode – which is a great thing that's happening to our city, with all the growth that's happening – is I think we have to have continued, affordable and sustainable growth," Ludwig said when he announced his candidacy in June.

He officially filed his nomination papers for mayor in late August.

Ludwig will be trying to replace Gary St. Onge, who has been Estevan's mayor since 2005. St. Onge has repeatedly stated that he won't be seeking re-election in October.
