Police faced a fairly quiet long weekend

Estevan Police Service members encountered a relatively quiet long weekend, but they still had to respond to a few calls.

Police received information that a couple of youths were out past their curfew on two separate occasions, and at two separate locations, during the long weekend. The youths were arrested. One was remanded for court in Weyburn on September 4, and the other was released, on conditions, to his mother.

Police were called to a fight in the parking lot of a local tavern. Two males were arrested and charged under the City's fighting bylaw. One male was taken to hospital and received stitches.

Officers were called to a dispute involving a weapon. Three males were arrested. Two were charged with assault. One was also charged with assault with a weapon, and one was also charged with possessing a controlled substance.

Two males were arrested on outstanding warrants. They were both charged with breaching their probation and public intoxication. Both were lodged in cells until sober.

There was a report of a person running overtop of four vehicles that were parked on the street in the 1200 block of Fourth Street. The individual was located, and arrested and charged with mischief.

Police responded to several false alarms and noisy parties during the long weekend.
