The Missoula Children's Theatre will open the 2012-13 edition of the Estevan Arts Council's Koncerts for Kids series.
The travelling theatre organization will be performing “The Wizard of Oz” at Westview School in Estevan on Saturday, September 22. Performances will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Local youth will be given a chance to perform on-stage during "The Wizard of Oz." The children's theatre's tour team will arrive in Estevan with a set, lights, costumes, props, make-up and a few performers – everything they need to put on a play, except for the majority the cast.
There will be an open audition at the school on September 17, and 50 to 60 local students will be selected to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week, and then the two production will take place on the 22nd.
The children's theatre has been the first performance for Koncerts for Kids for many years.
All Missoula Children's Theatre shows are original adaptations of classic children’s stories and fairytales.
