Hard Knocks Fighting has released the tentative card for the School of Hard Knocks 28, which will be coming to Spectra Place on September 14.
A total of 16 fights have been announced. Many of the bouts will feature local combatants.
The main event will be a heavyweight tilt featuring two local fighters. Wade Baldwin will face Felix Jimenez in a fight between two fighters with 1-2 records.
Derek Daku (2-1), who challenged for the heavyweight title when Hard Knocks made its last appearance in Estevan, will face undefeated Kyle Domino (4-0) of Vancouver in another heavyweight fight.
Other bouts involving local fighters will be:
*Kurt Bailley (9-6) will face Corey Atkinson (4-4-1, hometown not disclosed) in a fight for those in the 170-pound weight class.
*Denis Papineau (3-2) will battle Mitch Creighton of Lethbridge (4-3) in a fight among 135-pound fighters.
*Mike Geib (0-2) battles Kevin Taylor (0-0) of Brandon, Manitoba in a 205-pound fight.
*Matthew McCormick (debut) battles Mitchell Balaberda (0-1) from Saskatoon in another 205-pound fight.
*Craig Gaudry (2-1) faces Lee Ruff (debut) of Brandon in a 205-pound fight.
The rest of the card is: Tyler Waldner (1-1) of Saskatoon versus Ian Abbot (1-0) of Sandy Lake, Saskatchewan, in a 125-pound fight; Levi Bray (2-1) of Saskatoon battles Ryan Starkell (2-1) of Winnipeg, 155 pounds; Christian Olson (2-1) of La Ronge versus Nic Grandbois (1-3) of Kenora, Ontario, 155 pounds; Miguel Tock (0-1) of Lethbridge versus Harold Brun (0-1-1) of Kenora, 155 pounds; Trevor Anderson (4-0) of Prince Albert versus Khalil Azizi (3-2) of Lethbridge, 145 pounds; Richard Heffer of Saskatoon (debut) versus John Wapioke (debut) of Kenora, heavyweights; Ethan Cornect (1-0) of Brandon faces Chris Wilson (0-1) of Calgary, 155 pounds; Derek Lapierre (1-0) of Brandon battles Madison Mejia (2-0) of Kenora, 145 pounds; Joshua Ferguson (debut) of Brandon meets Curtis Richard (0-1) of Thunder Bay, 155 pounds; and Justin Hill (debut) of Calgary battles Cody Puls (0-1) of Kenora, 155 pounds.
