Team South East second at games

Team South East finished second in the overall medal standings at the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Meadow Lake. The South East wound up with 72 medals, which was one more than third place South West, and four more than fourth place Saskatoon. Regina led the way with 113 total medals.

Team South East finished with 20 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 27 bronze medals.

Results for Estevan area athletes were as follows:

*Lindsey McNab of Oxbow won gold in the female 13 and 14 50-metre freestyle and the 50-metre backstroke swims; silver in the 200-metre breaststroke and the 50-metre butterfly; and competed in three other events.

*Tanisha McKinnon of Alameda won gold in the female individual compound and silver in the individual recurve archery competitions.

*Team South East, comprised of McKinnon and Chayse Graham of Roche Percee, won gold in the female archery team event. Graham also won silver in the female individual recurve archery event;

*Team South East won silver in softball. The team was comprised of players from Oxbow and Alameda.

*Abbie Reich of Estevan won silver in the 13 and 14 female 50-metre freestyle swim; bronze in the 50-metre butterfly; and competed in five other events.  

*Team South East won bronze in baseball. Among the team members were: Mitchell Clark and Colton Gingras of Estevan; Jesse Mack of Macoun; Preston Hutt of Lampman; Brandon Hutt of Tribune; Carson Perkins of Bienfait; and Kirkland Chauus and Talen King of Carlyle.

*Nolan Graham of Roche Percee won bronze in male individual compound archery.

*Janissa Cooley of Oxbow won bronze in the 11 and 12 female 50-metre freestyle swim; 50-metre backstroke, 50-metre butterfly and 200-metre individual medley; and competed in three other events.

*Lanelle Bilokraly of Estevan won bronze in the 13 and 14 female 100-metre freestyle swim, and entered four other events.

*Morgan MacFarlane of Oxbow won bronze in the 14 and 15 male 50-metre swim, and was entered in six other events.

*Carter MacFarlane of Oxbow won bronze in the 14 and 15 male 200-metre individual medley swim, and entered six other events.  

*Samuel Beahm of Estevan won bronze in the 14 and 15 male 400-metre freestyle swim, and competed in five other swims.

*Cheyenne Odgers of Estevan was part of the female volleyball team that finished fourth.

*Wyatt Haux of Estevan was part of the male basketball team that finished sixth.  

*Racquelle Gibbons of Estevan competed in seven swimming events. Her top finish was fifth in the 11 and 12 female 100-metre freestyle.

*Colin Sutter of Estevan competed in six swimming events; his top finish was sixth in the 12 and 13 male 200-metre breaststroke swim.

*Keena McKnight of Estevan was eighth in the female pentathlon;

*William Chamney of Estevan was ninth in the male high jump, 12th in the 200 metres and 13th in the 100 metres.

*Kristina Chamney of Estevan was 10th in the female long jump, 11th in the 100-metre dash and 13th in the triple jump.

*Several Arcola residents competed in track and field. Quinton Brown won silver in the male pole vault, bronze in the hammer toss, and also competed in the javelin.

Kelsey Hengen of Arcola competed in the female 400 metres and 800 metres; Hayley Hislop was in the female 200 metres and 400 metres; Jared Taylor was in the male pentathlon; Shania Taylor was in the female hammer toss, javelin, discus and shot put; Brandt Freitag was in the male pentathlon; Clay Trytten was in the male shot put; Chance Smith was in the male discus; and Dylan Cann of Arcola was in the male shot put.

*Kyle Sargent of Carlyle was in the male triple jump and 400 metres.

*Emily Marshall of Estevan competed in six swimming events; her top finish was 13th in the 11 and 12 female 200-metre individual medley.

*Thomas Wakely of Estevan entered six swimming events; his top finish was 13th in the 12 and 13 male 200-metre freestyle swim.

*Zach Beahm of Estevan entered five swimming events; his top finish was 14th in the 12 and 13 male 100-metre backstroke swim.
