Police report

*Estevan Police Service members received a complaint August 7 of a suspicious vehicle near a northeast Estevan park. The suspect vehicle was gone on police arrival. The matter remains under investigation.

*A theft from a vehicle occurred at an east-central Estevan hotel parking lot. A number of construction tools were taken. The incident is being investigated.

*Police responded to a report of a stolen car in central Estevan. Information received indicated that the car was on its way back to Estevan. The driver hid the car behind an east Estevan business, and fled on foot. The car, and the youths involved, were found a short time later. A youth has been charged with taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Estevan Provincial Court on September 7.

*Members are investigating a theft of gravel from the Woodlawn area August 5.

*A report of two vehicles drag racing in northeast Estevan was reported to police. The suspects were gone when police arrived. The matter remains under investigation.

*Two complaints for uttering threats from August 5 are under investigation. The first occurred in north-central Estevan, the other was in the northwest area of the city.

*Police responded to a mischief complaint at a local restaurant on August 4. The suspect had left the building, but returned a short time later. The matter remains open and charges are pending.

*Police responded to a hit-and-run accident in the core area. The matter remains under investigation, and charges are pending against an Estevan resident.

*Vandalism occurred at a memorial in the south-central area of the city sometime during the long weekend. The matter remains under investigation.

*A theft of gas from a south-central gas station was reported to police. The suspect obtained fuel and then advised the attendant he had forgotten his wallet. He told the attendant he would return to pay for the fuel, but he never did. The matter remains under investigation.

*Several vehicles were entered during the long weekend: one in central Estevan on August 4, two in east-central Estevan on August 3, and another at an east-central hotel, also on August 3. In each instance, items were taken. No damage was done to the vehicle in any of the break-ins. There aren't any suspects, and the matters are under investigation.

*A report of uttering threats in north-central Estevan was received by police. The matter is under investigation.

*Police arrested and charged a 33-year-old Estevan resident with impaired driving, resisting arrest and refusing to provide a breath sample after a traffic stop in the city centre area. He was remanded in custody and will appear before a judge on August 7 in Weyburn.

*Two Estevan males were charged with fighting in public after officers responded to a fight outside a local lounge. They will appear in court at a later date.

*A number of traffic-related charges were laid during the long weekend for speeding, proceeding through a stop sign, proceeding through a red light, seat belt use and unlawfully having window tint.

*During a traffic stop August 2, police noticed the strong odor of marijuana emanating from a vehicle. The 26-year-old male driver and 20-year-old male passenger were both charged for possession of 14.1 grams of marijuana. The driver was also charged for driving while impaired by marijuana. The accused will answer to the charges on September 24.

*A resident on Lynd Crescent called police to report a trespasser. The resident was alarmed to find young male, possibly in his early twenties, looking in her window. Members patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description.

*A 20-year-old male was arrested for breaching conditions of a probation order not to consume alcohol. He will attend court August 13.

*A traffic stop resulted in another impaired driving charge. A 26-year-old male had left a drinking establishment and was located in downtown area. His first court appearance is on September 24.

*A traffic stop August 1 resulted in an impaired driving charge. The 26-year-old male was also in possession of 4.1 grams of marijuana. He will be answering to both charges on September 10.
