The Estevan Chamber of Commerce is still accepting registrations for its inaugural Networking on the Green golf tournament on Thursday, August 2 at the Estevan Woodlawn Golf Course.
Marketing and events coordinator Rebecca Howie said there is room for teams in the nine-hole Texas scramble tournament. They hope to have at least 18 entries, she said.
Registration will start at noon and the tournament will have a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A barbecue supper will be served at 4 p.m.
A few features have been added for the tournament. Mayor Gary St. Onge will be stationed at one of the holes, and will provide a tee shot for each team on that hole. Teams can use the mayor's tee shot, or one of their own.
Spectra Credit Union is offering a hole-in-one prize.
Event sponsor Sunrise Community Futures will have a young entrepreneur on one of the holes to promote their business. That young entrepreneur will also be able to learn about the businesses of others.
Participants can also purchase mulligans. Proceeds will be directed to the Hearthstone Community Campaign, which is raising funds for Estevan's new regional nursing home.
Howie said the tournament will be a good way for entrepreneurs and professionals to connect and network with each other in a fun environment.
