The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club held its annual summer social on June 20 with a delicious beef dinner followed by bridge. Eight and a half tables played including visitors from Katepwa Beach, Milestone and Estevan. Sitting north/south, Gord Bell and Jerry Thiessen finished first, Keith Eichel and Barry Mactaggart placed second, Roy Wallin and Millie Nimegeers were third, and Isabelle Butters and Meta Murray were fourth. Sitting east/west, Jim Brown and George Gillies took top honours and also placed first over-all, second place went to Bernie Collins and Marvella Carr-Lockwood, third place went to Lucie Nickel and Lydia Milleker, and in fourth were Jean Knibbs and Marion Brown.

In regular play, on June 4 with three and a half tables playing, Lydia Milleker and Lucie Nickel claimed first, Jim Brown and Jean Knibbs placed second, and Annie Balzar and Marion Brown were third.

Four tables played on June 6 and finishing on top were Jean Knibbs and Marion Brown, in second place were Jo Wollner and Bernie Collins, and in third place were John Whitell and Chuck Widdis.

June 11 had three and a half tables and Lucie Nickel and Andy Dumba placed first edging out Keith Eichel and Lydia Milleker who were second, while Barry Mactaggart and Marg Stewart were third.

With only two and a half tables playing on June 13, Barry Mactaggart and Lucie Nickel had a strong night finishing first, followed by Jim Brown and George Gilles who were second.

On June 18 four tables played and Lydia Milleker and Lucie Nickel were first place finishers, Jo Wollner and Bernie Collins came second, and Gord Bell and Marg Stewart placed third.

Four tables also played on June 25 and John Whitell and Roy Wallin came out on top, followed by a tie for second between Marg Stewart and Gord Bell and Annie Balzar and Marion Brown.

With the final game of the month on June 27, three tables played with Jim Brown and George Gillies finishing first, while Keith Eichel and Lucie Nickel placed second.

During July and August, the Weyburn Duplicate Bridge will play only once a week on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the Wheatland Senior Centre. All bridge players are welcome.
