Bienfait celebrates Canada Day

The Bienfait Skating Club had one of the many the floats that was part of Bienfait's Canada Day celebrations. Horse-and-buggy or horse-and-rider tandems, vintage automobiles and many other entries were received for the parade.

Bienfait celebrated Canada's 145th birthday July 1 by hosting their annual Canada Day festivities.

Thousands of people turned out for a couple of the activities: the morning parade and the night time fireworks. The parade made its way through the town, and it featured dozens of brightly-decorated entries, including floats, vehicles, motorcycles and horse and buggy tandems.

Many participants walked the parade route; some were in costumes in honour of Canada Day.

The fireworks show was after dark, and it brought an end to the activities.

Many other attractions were part of Bienfait's Canada Day bash, including a pancake breakfast, birthday cake, children's activities, casino games, a Twonie swim and the annual Farmers versus the Firemen softball game.
