Connor Lutz takes silver in IPF Cup

Local powerlifter Connor Lutz put Yorkton on the international powerlifting map in the IPF World Classic Cup in Stockholm, Sweden. Lutz, who was in the 83 kg weight class for the event, earned a silver medal in the bench press event at the IPF Cup giving the young Lutz an impressive showing at the international event.

Lutz also vaulted to seventh place in the world rankings with an impressive showing in all three of his events at the IPF World Classic Cup in addition to his silver medal. Lutz was ranked fourteenth out of twenty-three competitors heading into the World Classic Cup making his silver medal performance in the bench press even more impressive for the young Lutz, who was only ranked at the number twelve position in Canada before the event.

Connor was the second youngest competitor in the competition and looks to have a bright future in powerlifting ahead of him with this impressive showing in Sweden.

Lutz, who was born and raised in Yorkton took up powerlifting after playing on the University of Huskies football team.
