Sabrina Demyen and Samantha Pachard emerged as the winners of this year's local Idol music contests.

Demyen won Estevan Idol, while Pachard took the Estevan Junior Idol crown, during the finales that were held on Wednesday night at the Civic Auditorium.

Demyen performed her original song "Baby" in the final round of the Idol competition. Carissa Hoffort finished second by singing Adel's "Someone Like You." Molly Fogarty was third with her original song "Change."

Pachard won the Junior Idol competition by singing "Hallelujah" in the final round. Emily Thompson was second with "Someone I used to Know" and Brooklyn Willerth was third with "Stuck on You."

Eight people sang during the preliminary round of Estevan Idol on Monday. Nine took the stage for Estevan Junior Idol the following night.

The fields were pared down to four for the semi-final round of Idol, and five for the Junior Idol semi-finals. Both were held Wednesday night. Then the top three in each group advanced to the final.

Blair Wrubleski performed in the Idol semi-final on Wednesday, but didn't reach the final. Keysha Grulich and Faith Kyle were eliminated from the semi-final of Junior Idol.
