The Estevan Police Service responded to many calls, incidents and complaints during the last three nights.
Police were called to a local hotel Sunday night after an intoxicated male passed out in the lobby. He was arrested and lodged in cells for the evening. He will be charged under the Alcohol Gaming Regulations Act for public intoxication.
Police received an erratic driving complaint about a vehicle entering the city from the west. The vehicle was not located.
A report of an impaired driver was also received. The vehicle had been noted to be weaving in and out of traffic on the north end of the city. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
A 911 static line was reported to police through the provincial 911 system. Members went to the address and noted a problem with the phone. Everything at the residence was fine.
Police were called to an area along Valley Street on Saturday night when the caller located a lost three-year-old child. While en route to the scene, officers located the mother, who had been looking for the child. Mother and child were reunited. The child had wandered off from a babysitter at a local park.
Officers were twice called to a cabaret at the Estevan Curling Club. The first incident involved a fight between two people, which ended before police arrived. The other involved a 35-year-old male breaking a window at the curling rink. He was arrested and lodged in cells until sober. The damage to the window is under investigation. A 19-year-old female was also arrested outside the cabaret when police spotted a disturbance between her and another person. She was lodged in cells, and also faces a charge of public intoxication.
Police received a complaint about some harassing messages sent by texts. The matter is being looked into.
Police are investigating an assault that occurred at the skate park. The matter is under investigation, and charges could be laid.
Patrolling members were flagged down, and advised of an intoxicated male who was passed out on the street at the intersection of Alexandra Avenue and Eva Street. The male was located and arrested. He was lodged in cells and will be charged under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act.
Police were also called to a fight on the front lawn of a residence in the Pleasantdale area. When police attended, nobody was located.
While police were on patrol, they located a female subject who was staggering along a street in the Pleasantdale area. She was detained for her safety, and transported to hospital for examination due to her intoxicated state. Family members were contacted and attended the scene.
Police received a driving complaint on the north end of the city on Friday evening. The matter was in relation to the vehicle's operator not having a valid driver's license. The subject was located and stopped. The matter continues to be looked into.
A 22-year-old male was charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. He was stopped by police as a result of his driving actions. He was lodged in cells, and will appear in court on July 9.
Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Investigation into the matter determined the operator of the suspect vehicle did not realize she had struck the complainant's vehicle. The matter has been referred to SGI.
Police were called to a noise complaint on Nicholson Road. The occupants of the house were warned under the city bylaw. The party ended at that point, and no further action was required.
Police were called to an incident in the central part of the city. A 45-year-old intoxicated male had passed out, and began having medical problems. He was transported to hospital, and later lodged in cells until sober.
Police were called to Spectra Place to escort a subject from a concert. The subject left on his own accord, and no further action was necessary.
Police were called to a fight at a local convenience store. When members arrived, all subjects had left.
A report of an assault involving a weapon required police attention. The responsible person had left the scene, and could not be located. The matter remains under investigation.
Police were also called to a domestic disturbance in the central area of the city. A 38-year-old female was arrested. She had breached her conditional sentence to not consume alcohol, and remain in custody until court on Monday.
Police also arrested a 25-year-old male on outstanding warrants, and for breaching his conditional sentence order. He also remained in custody for court on Monday.
