Pirates lead the Saskota League

The Lampman Pirates have been the front-runners in the Saskota Baseball League so far this season.

Lampman boasts a perfect 5-0 record. Their most recent win was a 6-1 triumph over the Redvers A's on June 5 in Redvers.

The Carlyle Cardinals are the only other perfect team in the league, but they have only played two games so far this year.

The Carnduff Astros sit in third spot with a 3-1 record. Their most recent win was a 16-10 slugfest victory over the Wawota Pats in Wawota. The Kenosee Cubs sit fourth with a 1-0-1 record; they are coming off of a 4-4 tie with the Arcola Threshers on June 5 in Arcola.

The Oxbow Chiefs sit fifth with a 2-1-1 record. The Estevan Tower Wolves are sixth at 1-1-1 Those two teams played to a 5-5 tie June 6 in Estevan.

Arcola is seventh with a 1-3-1 record, and Wawota is eighth at 1-3. Two teams are still seeking their first win of the season: the Lampman Cubs (0-3) and Redvers (0-4).

Upcoming games in the league are:

Thursday, June 7: Arcola at Redvers, Estevan at Carnduff, and Oxbow at Carlyle. All games start at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, June 8: Lampman Cubs at Kenosee, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 10: Wawota at the Lampman Cubs, 2 p.m., and Wawota at the Lampman Pirates, 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, June 12: Carlyle at Redvers, Kenosee at Wawota, Oxbow at the Lampman Cubs, Lampman Pirates at Carnduff and Estevan at Arcola. All games are at 6:30 p.m.
