Members of the Estevan Fire and Rescue Service, the Estevan Police Service and the local EMS responded to an accident at a Viking Surplus Oilfield Equipment building site on the southern outskirts of the city on Saturday morning.
A metal framed structure that was under construction collapsed. Four male workers, in two separate, Genie Man-Lift bucket machines, were hurled to the ground. Three of the men suffered non life-threatening injuries, and were examined and treated at St. Joseph's Hospital.
One of those three was pinned to the ground by a man-lift bucket. Fire department personnel subsequently rescued him by lifting the bucket and extracting him from his trapped position.
Occupational Heath and Safety Inspectors were contacted in Regina. They arrived at the scene on Saturday afternoon, and started their investigation into the building collapse.
