SV Theatre hosting a fundraiser

The Souris Valley Theatre will host its first fundraiser in several years on Friday, May 13 – a concert featuring former Estevan resident Chris Henderson.

The event will occur at the Estevan Exhibition building. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

There will also be prizes, a silent auction, appetizers, a dessert buffet, a DJ and a cash bar.

Proceeds will go towards the construction of an outdoor refreshment area and patio for the theatre. Souris Valley Theatre manager Angela Simmons said she hopes that it will be ready for the opening night performance of "Souris Valley Sue 1892" on July 6.

Funds will also be used to build washrooms for the performers.

The theatre has received a grant from the Spectra Community Foundation for the project.

Representatives from Estevan's Relay for Life committee will be working the bar, and part proceeds will go to the Relay.
