The Estevan Lafrentz Trucking Steelers finished their regular season with a victory, defeating the Regina Dinos 26-10 on October 9 in Regina.
The Steelers finished the season with a 3-5 record, which is their best result in their three-year franchise history. Their 10th place finish in the standings left them just out of the playoffs.
They will play the Regina Raiders in a bowl game on October 16 in Regina. The Steelers have won both of their bowl games in franchise history.
The Estevan Century 21 Peewee Chargers, meanwhile, played the Regina Vikings in a play-in game for the post-season on October 13. (Results not available at press time). Estevan finished tied for fifth in the Regina Minor Football League’s regular season standings with a 5-3 record, but they are ranked eighth based on points for-points against differential. The Vikings were ninth at 4-4.
An Estevan victory would send them into a quarter-final against the unbeaten Regina Wolverines on October 16 in Regina.
