RE/MAX is offering 16 bursaries, worth $1,000 each, to Western Canadian Grade 12 students through its annual Quest for Excellence Program.
Students from Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, B.C. and the Yukon Territory are eligible for the scholarships.
The Quest for Excellence Program, now in its 10th year, was established to recognize the leadership and community contributions of Western Canadian students.
Lorna Pylychaty from RE/MAX?s Estevan office said that they are encouraging local students to apply for a bursary.
?Students just have to let RE/MAX know what they have done specifically in their local communities to make a difference in the lives of others, whether it be fundraising, volunteering their time or participating in local initiatives,? said Pylychaty.
Academic achievement and financial need are not factors in the selection process, Pylychaty said. The student does not have to be entering a post-secondary program related to real estate.
Pylychaty said that the Quest for Excellence Program is part of RE/MAX?s efforts to build the community.
The application deadline is March 4, 2011. Recipients will be notified by May 9, 2011.
RE/MAX is Canada?s leading real estate organization with over 18,000 sales associates situated throughout its more than 690 independently-owned and operated offices across the country.
