Oilpatch 101 will teach important information

The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Estevan and District Board of Tourism, Trade and Commerce, will host an information session on Saskatchewan’s booming oilfield industry.

Oilpatch 101 will take place on November 22 and 23 at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina. This course is directed to anyone who is new to the oilfield industry.

The course is also geared towards individuals and companies who are directly or indirectly connected to the oilfield, individuals who want new information on the oilfield, and people who want a refresher on what they already know.

Oilpatch 101 will use a combination of presentations, graphics, multimedia and hands-on activities to help people:

*Understand the basic steps, technologies, and people involved in getting petroleum resources from the ground to the consumer;

*Connect the petroleum industry to regional and global events, issues, and economics, and explore how the industry affects all Canadians;

*Recognize the names and roles of various organizations working in the Canadian oilpatch;

*And recognize the value of their personal contribution to their employer and to the sustainability of the industry.

JuneWarren-Nickle’s Energy Group, a supplier of information on the oilfield industry in Canada, will be the presenters at Oilpatch 101.
