A painting created by North Portal artist Sheila Farstad has been added to the permanent collection of the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM).
The EAGM issued a call for submissions late last year. Farstad was among the artists who responded. After her artwork was selected, she provided a list of 46 different paintings that could be included for the permanent collection.
Her painting, “Evanescence,” was eventually chosen as the one that the EAGM wanted.
The painting is a “loosely-based” interpretation of a flower. Farstad said. Various shades of blue are predominantly featured in the painting, which has dyes on watercolour.
“Evanescence” is currently hanging in the EAGM's entranceway.
