The second play for the Souris Valley Theatre’s 2010 season is now underway.
Opening night for “Rhyme Rustler: The Ballad of Robert Service” was on July 28, and it will continue until August 15. Performances will run from Wednesdays through Sundays.
The play tells the story of Service, and the time that the famous poet spent in the Yukon during the gold rush, when he composed such famous ballads as “The Shooting of Dan McGrew” and “The Cremation of Sam McGee.”
It’s a two-person play, starring Jim Dobbin as Service and Grant Paterson, who has several roles.
“Rhyme Rustler” will be the final play at the theatre this season.
“Corner Gassed,” which was the first play at the Souris Valley Theatre in 2010, came to an end on July 25.
