The Estevan Bruins have announced that the Estevan Bruin Alumni Association will be making a $40,000 donation to help fund the construction of the Bruins' dressing room in the new Spectra Place.
“To ensure that players have the opportunity to enjoy the unique experience of playing in a hockey community like Estevan, this project was something we felt we needed to be involved in,” said alumni association president Brad Pierson. “This donation represents our commitment to ensuring that the Bruins have a place to play for years to come, and we encourage everyone to help support this initiative.”
The dressing room is being funded entirely by donations from individuals and businesses. All donors will be recognized on a wall of fame, located on the dressing room wall. The dressing room project will cost approximately $125,000.
A contribution of at least $20,000 will result in diamond supporter status. There will also be platinum supporters (donations of at least $7,500), gold supporters ($3,000), silver supporters ($1,000) and friends of the Bruins ($999 or less).
“We are extremely pleased that our alumni have shown us such great support and are leading the community in ensuring that the Bruins have a place to call home,” said Bruins head coach/GM Karry Biette. “We are relying solely on the community to help raise funds for this project and continue to show the Bruins the support that Estevan is known for in hockey circles.”
The alumni association's donation is the first for the locker room project.
