The Estevan Woodlawn Golf Course was converted into a par-3 course on May 29 for the Boston Pizza Estevan Bruins Alumni Hole in One golf tournament.
A total of 116 golfers entered the tournament.
Nobody managed a hole-in-one this year, which would have resulted in a cash prize of $20,000, but a couple of golfers came close. Lee Symons came within 10 inches of an ace, said alumni association president Brad Pierson. Rod Fagerheim was within 11 inches of a hole-in-one.
Symons was also part of the tournament-winning team. He joined with Kyle Kallis, Brant Kersey and Jeff Pratt to shoot an 8-under-par 46. The course's overall par was 54 for the tournament.
Scott Blackstock, Brett Blackstock, Pat Murphy and Mike Ross were second with a 47. They finished tied with the team of Derek Elash, Marcus Friess, Dustin Ng and Nolan Rohatyn, so a count back was needed to determine second place.
Supper at Rotary Park followed the tournament.
Pierson said the weather conditions did pose a challenge this year, and it's hard to attract last-minute entrants when the weather isn't cooperating.
Proceeds from the tournament will be directed to the Estevan Bruins hockey club.
