A team of five people from England were in Estevan from May 25 to 27 through Rotary International's Group Study Exchange program.
Retired educator Brian Kirkup is the team leader. Newspaper reporter Joanna Davis, cider maker Neil Day, helicopter contracts manager Clare French, and gardens and park manager Charlotte Allen round out the team.
All five team members hail from Rotary's District 1200, which includes the English counties of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
While in Estevan, they toured several local attractions, and spoke at a Rotary meeting on May 25. Each member discussed their profession, their interests and their families.
Kirkup talked about the people, geography and economy of the three counties that comprise Rotary District 1200. He also discussed the impact that Rotary has on the region.
Estevan was one of the final stops for the District 1200 team. They visited several other communities in Saskatchewan and Manitoba since their arrival on April 30. They will spend several days in Regina, and then return to England on May 31.
As part of the Group Study Exchange, Estevan’s Cory Prokop led a team of five Saskatchewan people to District 1200 last September and October.
