The United Way of Estevan is seeking organizations and individuals in need of help with projects, and volunteers who can do the work, for their annual Day of Caring, which will take place on Wednesday, May 19.
The Day of Caring mobilizes members of the community who will volunteer their time to complete meaningful, hands-on projects for those who would otherwise be unable to do the tasks.
The event also demonstrates the impact of volunteers in the community.
Projects that are suitable are those that could be completed in one day. These include painting, landscaping and clean-up tasks.
Local organizations and agencies are being asked to identify project needs for the United Way. Volunteers will identify projects that they are interested in assisting. The United Way of Estevan will manage the process.
Last year some employers in the community paid their staff to work at the various Day of Caring sites around the community.
