Chelsey Colbow won’t forget her first experience with Telemiracle.
Colbow was one of nearly 30 members of the Estevan Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs who travelled to Telemiracle 34 in Regina on March 6 and 7. She said she didn’t know what Telemiracle was all about until she arrived and experienced the event.
“I had a lot of fun, met a lot of new people,” said Colbow. “It was a long but very fun weekend.”
Colbow worked as a messenger, which meant that she had to transport money to the treasury room. She was also a bodyguard for Telemiracle mascot Teddy, and she was a phone captain during her last shift, even though she was a Telemiracle rookie.
“That was really fun,” said Colbow. “I got to be in charge of a lot of people.”
Saskatchewan people are very generous, Colbow said, and it was great to be on stage at the end of the event and watch the totals climb.
Colbow joined the Kinettes earlier this year.
More than $4.01 million was raised during Telemiracle this year – the second highest off-air total ever. The money will stay in Saskatchewan, and it will be used to assist Saskatchewan people.
