HOJA performs at benefit

A cappella trio HOJA performed at the Estevan Comprehensive School on February 26 as part of a Koncerts for Kids benefit show for the Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon.

About 125 people attended the event, said Koncerts for Kids spokesperson Brenda Lyons. She said attendance was lower than what organizers wanted. A lot of people were at home watching the Olympics, she said.

Those who did show up “really loved” the music, Lyons said. HOJA put on a really fun 90-minute performance.

Lyons said she doesn’t know how much money they raised for Ronald McDonald House. Silent auction and raffle items were part of the benefit.

Koncerts for Kids is pleased to support an organization like Ronald McDonald House, Lyons said. Families from the Estevan area have used it in the past, and Lyons said they want to make sure it is there for children who need it in the future.
